Petition Background (Preamble)

Every day in Australia more than 30 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. These diagnoses not only affect the patient but also their family, friends and co-workers. There are currently over 100,000 women coping with a breast cancer diagnosis and its consequences.

Approximately 1 in 10 women will develop breast cancer by age 74 and of those 90% have no family history of the disease. The incidence of breast cancer in Australia is increasing however the survival rate after diagnosis has also increased. It is imperative that we continue this important work in breast cancer research to ensure a 100% survival rate moving forward.

Our goal is to have the government of Australia to strive towards finding a cure for breast cancer with funding to provide support research projects and support initiatives for those with the disease.

A proud initiative of the Your Kiss Counts by Momentum for Australia Charity.

Petition

We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Parliaments to fund research projects and promote initiatives that support those suffering from breast cancer.
